Gate Crashers? Not By Any Stretch

I cannot imagine why Rabbi Brad Hirschfield, writing at Fox News, called our group “gate-crashers.” The Reason Rally was not just a concert and a dance. There was no gate, either literally or metaphorically.

The Reason Rally was a rally against religion on public land, with the Washington Monument rising in clear view behind the stage, held for the purpose of influencing public policy. It calls for the question, how many large outdoor public policy-related events in Washington take place in any given decade without some dissenting group coming to express their opinion? And what is it about conducting quiet, non-disruptive personal conversations with individuals that constitutes “crashing”?
